Social Media Post: 2027 Housing Market Forecast
For Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn - October 13, 2026
Option 1 - Facebook / LinkedIn (longer):
What will the NW Metro Atlanta housing market look like in 2027? We pulled the freshest forecasts so you do not have to guess.
Rates: Fannie Mae projects the 30-year fixed averaging about 6.7% to 6.8% through 2027. The MBA's October forecast is more cautious, with rates above 7% through the end of 2027. Neither expects a return to 5% or 6%.
Prices: Fannie Mae sees national price growth slowing to about 1% by mid-2027, and Redfin's September data had prices up about 1.3% year over year. No crash, no boom, just balance.
Sales: Fannie Mae expects total home sales up about 7% from 2026, and the MBA sees purchase lending growing even as refis dry up.
What that means here: Cobb and Cherokee roughly flat, Paulding soft with the most negotiating room, Bartow the most affordable. And first-time buyers, Georgia Dream is still offering a 6.625% 30-year fixed rate with down payment assistance up to $10,000, about three-quarters of a point below market.
The honest headline: the decision you are weighing this fall is not going to be dramatically different if you wait until spring. So decide based on your life and your numbers, not a guess about next year.

Option 2 - Instagram / Facebook (shorter):
What does 2027 look like for NW Metro Atlanta housing? In three numbers:
6.7% to 7%+: where forecasters see the 30-year fixed rate through 2027. Fannie Mae says about 6.7% to 6.8%; the MBA says above 7%. No big drop coming.
1%: projected national home price growth by mid-2027. Prices hold, they do not crash.
7%: expected growth in home sales next year. More people moving, more balance, more negotiating room.
Here at home: Cobb and Cherokee steady, Paulding and Bartow the value plays. First-time buyers, check Georgia Dream at 6.625% with up to $10,000 in down payment help before you settle.
The honest take: waiting for spring 2027 will not change the market much. Decide on your life and your numbers, not a guess about next year.
