One of the things we love most about NW Metro Atlanta is how much there is to do, weekend after weekend. From free concerts on historic town squares to farmers markets, art festivals, and live music, every community in our service area knows how to bring people together.
We are committed to keeping this guide current with the best weekend events across all seven communities. Bookmark it and check back, because we update it as new events are announced and details change.
This Weekend: October 17-18, 2026
This is the biggest festival weekend of the fall season. Taste of Acworth fills Main Street with more than 40 restaurant booths, the 25th annual Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival headlines downtown Kennesaw with Chayce Beckham and Tigirlily Gold, HarvestFest brings the Square to life in Marietta, and Dallas hosts its BOO Bash. Any of these are a perfect way to experience what living in these communities feels like.
Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival - Kennesaw (25th Anniversary)
The 25th annual Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival takes over downtown Kennesaw at Depot Park and the United Bankshares Amphitheater, with country duo Tigirlily Gold performing Saturday at 6 p.m. and platinum-selling singer-songwriter Chayce Beckham headlining at 8 p.m. Barbecue vendors, a kids zone, a talent showcase, and free concerts both nights make it the signature fall weekend on Kennesaw's calendar.

Taste of Acworth - 22nd Annual
Taste of Acworth returns for its 22nd year on Main Street in Historic Downtown Acworth, with more than 40 restaurant booths serving samples from $1 to $10, two live entertainment stages, a Georgia Grown member village, cooking contests, and family activities. It is the signature event on Acworth's fall calendar and a great way to sample the city's dining scene in one afternoon.

More Ideas for This Weekend
HarvestFest takes over Historic Marietta Square Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a market, Touch-A-Truck, costume and pie contests, and Scarecrow displays. Dallas hosts its BOO Bash downtown, Canton's The Mill on Etowah holds Denim Fest, and Cartersville's BBQ, Brews & Boos lands at Friendship Plaza. Farmers markets across all seven cities are still in their autumn hours, and early voting is underway across the region.

The Marietta Square Farmers Market runs every Saturday from April through December, rain or shine. Fresh local produce, pasture-raised meats, artisan cheeses, farm-fresh eggs, local honey, baked goods, and handmade crafts fill the north end of Glover Park. Live music adds to the festive atmosphere.

Downtown Woodstock through November 1. The city's signature fall display lines Main Street with creative scarecrows from local businesses and families.
Halloween JamBOOree - Acworth
Saturday, October 24 at Logan Farm Park. Games, trick-or-treating, and family fun to close out the month.
Jack O' Lantern Jamboree - Canton
October 24-25 at The Mill on Etowah. The 3rd annual jamboree brings carved pumpkins, food, and family activities to the riverfront.
Cartersville Fall Festival - Dellinger Park
Saturday, October 24, 4-8 p.m. Free and family-friendly with live music and a Trick-or-Treat Trail, plus West Fest at the Booth Western Art Museum the same day.
Candy Crawl & Nightmare on Main 5K - Kennesaw
Candy Crawl October 24 with trick-or-treating and bounce houses downtown; the Nightmare on Main 5K closes the Kennesaw Grand Prix series on October 31.
Ghouls Night Out - Woodstock
Thursday, October 30 downtown. Woodstock's adult and family Halloween celebration closes the month.
Dallas Christmas Parade - Dallas
Saturday, December 5. The 34th Annual Invitational Dallas Christmas Parade, hosted by the Paulding County Rotary Club, is a great reason to plan a downtown visit this holiday season.
Year-Round Destinations
Beyond the scheduled events, NW Metro Atlanta is filled with places you can visit any weekend. Here are a few of our favorites.
Kennesaw Mountain
2,900+ acres of hiking trails, Civil War history, and panoramic views of the Atlanta skyline. Free. Open daily dawn to dusk. Mountain Road is now closed to private vehicles; a free shuttle runs from the visitor center.
Silver Comet Trail
61.5 miles of paved trail from Smyrna to the Alabama state line, with multiple access points in and around Dallas. Perfect for cycling, running, walking, and family bike rides. Free. Open dawn to dusk.
Tellus Science Museum
120,000-square-foot science museum in Cartersville with a planetarium, fossil gallery, mineral exhibits, and outdoor science garden. Great for a rainy weekend day.
The Battery Atlanta
The entertainment district surrounding Truist Park in Cobb County offers dozens of restaurants, bars, shops, and live music venues. Even on non-game days, it is a year-round destination for dining and nightlife.
