One of the things we love most about NW Metro Atlanta is how much there is to do, weekend after weekend. From free concerts on historic town squares to farmers markets, art festivals, and live music, every community in our service area knows how to bring people together.

This Weekend: September 4-7, 2026
Labor Day weekend is one of the biggest stretches on the region's community calendar, and this year the anchor events are two favorites: the 40th annual Art in the Park on the Marietta Square and the Acworth Mimosa Festival downtown. Both are perfect ways to experience what living in these communities feels like.
40th Annual Art in the Park - Marietta
One of the Southeast's premier juried art festivals returns to Glover Park for its 40th year. Over 220 artists from across the country display and sell their work in every medium, with live music filling the Square all weekend, a children's activity tent, and a standout food vendor lineup. This is the signature event on Marietta's fall calendar and the perfect introduction to the community.

Acworth Mimosa Festival - Historic Downtown Acworth
This popular festival returns to downtown Acworth with dozens of mimosa flavors, craft beer and wine, live music, and food from local vendors. It takes over Main Street with a relaxed, festive atmosphere in the shadow of the lake city's historic downtown.

More Ideas for the Holiday Weekend
Spend a Sunday afternoon on Lake Allatoona, hike Kennesaw Mountain or the trails at Red Top Mountain State Park, or catch a show and dinner in downtown Woodstock. Farmers markets across all seven cities are in full swing, and the fall festival season is just getting started. The Marietta Square Farmers Market runs every Saturday from April through December, rain or shine. Fresh local produce, pasture-raised meats, artisan cheeses, farm-fresh eggs, local honey, baked goods, and handmade crafts fill the north end of Glover Park. Live music adds to the festive atmosphere.

Year-Round Destinations
Beyond the scheduled events, NW Metro Atlanta is filled with places you can visit any weekend. Here are a few of our favorites.
Kennesaw Mountain
2,900+ acres of hiking trails, Civil War history, and panoramic views of the Atlanta skyline. Free. Open daily dawn to dusk. Mountain Road is now closed to private vehicles; a free shuttle runs from the visitor center.
Silver Comet Trail
61.5 miles of paved trail from Smyrna to the Alabama state line, with multiple access points in and around Dallas. Perfect for cycling, running, walking, and family bike rides. Free. Open dawn to dusk.
Tellus Science Museum
120,000-square-foot science museum in Cartersville with a planetarium, fossil gallery, mineral exhibits, and outdoor science garden. Great for a rainy weekend day.
The Battery Atlanta
The entertainment district surrounding Truist Park in Cobb County offers dozens of restaurants, bars, shops, and live music venues. Even on non-game days, it is a year-round destination for dining and nightlife.
