The Rottenwood Creek Trail Phase 1, a roughly $17 million project adding about three miles of multiuse trail that connects Kennesaw State University's Marietta campus to the Franklin Gateway Sports Complex, held its official groundbreaking on September 18. It is part of the larger Mountain to River Trail connection and a meaningful step for walkers and cyclists in the city.
New Spots Around the Square
Satellite Restaurant and Arcade Bar, from the team behind Starrcade in Kennesaw, holds its grand opening Friday, September 18 near Marietta Square. Brasserie Genevieve, a French brasserie, is expected to open later this year or early 2027 at 45 West Park Square in the former Asher & Rose space. And El Jalisco opened its doors inside Marietta Square Market in August, adding to the market's rotating lineup. The Square's restaurant scene keeps getting deeper.
A Closer Look at a New Residential Approval

Trail Plans on the SPLOST List
The proposed SPLOST 2028 renewal project list includes a 10-foot multiuse trail along New McEver Road, part of the city's continuing effort to connect neighborhoods to its lakefront and downtown by foot and bike.
